Design by Verner Panton, 1971.
By Louis Poulsen.

One of the more popular Verner Panton designs, the Panthella Table Lamp provides general and diffused illumination. A Slender shaft and hemispheric shade contribute to a well-balanced form. The scale of the shade is slightly smaller to provide a more consistent design for table top placement. The lighting characteristics makes it suitable for providing the space with general illumination, as well as fulfilling the illumination requirements needed for tasks such as reading.

The Panthella Table Lamp features a white, injection molded ABS base and housing with an injection molded white opal acrylic shade. Ships with 9 feet of white power cord with in-line on/off switch provided.

Verner Panton

Verner Panton was an inspirational and colorful personality. A unique person with a special sense of colours, shapes, light function and room.

Over the course of his career, Verner Panton (1926-1998) introduced a series of modern lamps with personalities unlike any of his Scandinavian contemporaries.

With a remarkable faith in the unlimited possibilities of the form, Verner Panton worked successfully to create a new set of theories about how lighting should work and how it should influence its surroundings.

Verner Panton in his own words:
"The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination. Most people spend their lives living in dreary, grey-beige conformity, mortally afraid of usning colors. By experimenting with lighting, colors, textiles and furniture and utilizing the latest technologies, I try to show new ways, to encourage people to use their fantasy imagination and make their surroundings more exciting".

Louis Poulsen

Louis Poulsen's approach to architectural development began with its collaboration with famous and well respected lighting designers, like Poul Henningsen. Together they created a lighting and product philosophy encompassed by the words "function", "comfort" and "ambience". This philosophy continues to influence simple and functional product design, which focuses on well-being and the perception of artificial light, which leads to the creation of unique lighting environments. Louis Poulsen's approach to lighting lies in a very strict and uncompromising product philosophy grounded in simplicity. All elements must serve a light-related purpose. The result is a product line that displays simple and discreet designs ideally suited to all types of architecture across cultural styles.
