Design Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto, 2002.

A plastic luminous disc consisting of two polycarbonate shells, particularly well adapted to the latest generation of slim, circular fluorescent bulbs. The lamp is so thin that it merges imperceptibly with the surface of the ceiling or wall. The use of injection-molded polycarbonate for the body allows the LightDisc to be made from a single material thus creating a visually simplified whole and reduces the connecting points between parts. Choose from a frosted or clear diffuser; and transparent or metallic ring (the ring encompasses the perimeter of the fixture). The transparent ring creates the halo effect around the fixture, when illuminated. The finishes, transparent and metallic are created simultaneously in the mold by using the new "in mold decoration" technology. Suitable for use outdoors and wet locations.

Great Light, beautiful illumination

This took me all of 15 minutes to install, really easy and quick. We are using as a wall mount on our front porch. The light itself casts a wonderful illumination at night and is not too harsh, suggest the frosted diffuser if it is being used as a wall mount.

Beautiful light

I have the larger version of this light as well and liked it so much I ordered the smaller one for another location on the outside of my house. Because you want it to sit flush, I've had to put in blocking to make the siding on my house flat so the light doesn't sit tilted.

Other than that, it's beautiful! I'd recommend the translucent sides with the frosted face, it is much less harsh when the light is one (my larger size is the other configuration and it is very bright).

love Luceplan

I love all Luceplan lights but this one is truly unique for an outdoor light. Outdoor lights are very hard to find in nicely designed silhouettes. This one is an exception to the rule. People always comment on it. Also we put one in our shower as well and it provides very functional bathroom light as well.
