Gives off a nice soft light. The black cord provides a nice contrast and creates an interesting look. I have been looking for a simple light fixture that's also well designed. It's a little overpriced but was exactly what I've been looking for.

We needed an overhead light for our extra bedroom and wanted a simple clean look that wouldn't be the focul point in a room with only average ceiling height. Like other reviewers we didn't get to use the full length of the cord, the height of the ceiling meant we could only use about twelve inches. Though buying a cord kit and shade might be cheaper, in the long run I think we'll be happier with the diffused shade. We've loved everything we purchased from ylighting so far.

Black cord has writing all over it (can remove with nail polish remover). Could have purchased a shade and a pendant kit for less than 1/2 the price of this lamp. Sorry I bought it.

The Meridian Pendant Light went perfectly with our room and was exactly what we were looking for. I only wish that my ceilings were taller, so we could have had more of a pendant effect. As it is, ours only hangs down a tiny bit.

This light fixture is very basic, but looks wonderful installed. They provide a lot of light, and the way the light is diffused they give a nice warm glow when dimmed down. Despite not having installation instructions, my father and I installed them ourselves without much difficulty. I couldn't be happier with how the fixtures look, and how much I paid for them.

It looks beautiful in our breakfast room. We were afraid of the black electrical cord, but we have black in the room, so it works. It turns out the baffle is the same fabric as the shade. I thought the baffle might be a recessed plastic piece. The baffle looks great because it is unified with the shade, but the only thing I fear is, because we have it hanging pretty low, it could pick up a food or drink splash. But beyond that, for the price, we couldn't be happier with the light.

We just installed our Meridian Pendant, and overall we are pleased with it. The 18" drum is a great size for above the dining table, and it's nice that it accommodates two bulbs for greater light output. I'm not a huge fan of the black cord that the light hangs from - it's not particularly attractive, and to my shock it actually has small white print all over it describing the type of cord it was (eg 300V etc.). I would have preferred an option for the cord color (silver, white.. anything) and if it has to be black, to be just black, minus the power rating info printed on it. Also, note that the drum wire can be partially seen through the fabric when the light is on - this could be fixed by adding some fabric trim to the top of the drum. Also -- they say two week lead time... mine took over four weeks to arrive, so if you need it quick this may not be your best bet.
