Design by Jørn Utzon.
Concert P3 is a natural choice for conference rooms, auditoriums, lobbies and other large rooms in which soft, indirect lighting is required.
Consisting of four shades that repeat the same form in various sizes, reflecting each other in pairs. Concert is built on four shades and a parabola of drawn steel, which is mounted on a glass suspension of triple-layer, hand-blown opal glass. The suspension unit sends out a pleasant, even light between the shades. At the same time, it illuminates the two upward shades and part of the cord. The bottom shades casts light downward to the parabola, which then diffuses it. The parabola not only softens the light, but prevents glare - regardless of the height of the lamp.
Dimensions 21.75"D X 12.75"H; supplied with 118" field-cuttable cord. Uses 1 X 200W 120V E26 (medium base) Type A incandescent lamp (not included).
Lamp Type: INCANDESCENT
Jørn Utzon is famous for his design of the Sydney Opera House built between 1957-1973. Influenced by his father's naval engineering drawings, Jørn must have enjoyed open and soaring hydrodynamic shapes, which he used in his lighting designs even before the ocean side Opera House. He designed to let light flow, bending metal into the shapes to direct light into a quality that would enhance a space. His Opera and Concert Lights even seek to direct music (which he too must have loved) gently back down toward the audience. It was this regard for the enjoyment of one"s senses that seems to have driven his designs, not the actual shape or style of an object. He said: "Architecture is about creating a humane and friendly world around us. It is the ability to understand what surroundings we need as people."See other lights/products from Jorn Utzon
Lightyears Philosophy - First and foremost, the lighting fixture should ensure functional lighting, but at the same time offer an aesthetic experience, whether it is on or off. Lightyears develops and markets unique lamps for design- and quality-conscious consumers. Their lamps unite quality, finish and optimum illumination. This ensures fulfilling the most important requirement, a fusion of form and function. Every single detail must have its own purpose, and not exist purely for the sake of design.
