The photograph of this lamp is gorgeous. The description said it was made from a "polywood veneer" and I was expecting some sort of lightweight wood product. I should have researched more what polywood actually is. What I received was a piece of flimsy, translucent plastic snapped together with a couple of rivets and screws. It comes nowhere close to justifying it's $500 price tag. Yes, the shape is beautiful. The materials fail. A friend asked if I bought it at Target. Ouch! In addition, you must use one of those fluorescent coiled energy-saving light bulbs, the size of which overwhelms the scale of the lamp and is too harsh for anyplace but a kitchen or laundry room. I am going to try to get it rewired with a incandescent bulb that can be put on a dimmer. So beware if you are considering this purchase. I was heartbroken.

I selected Beech colour based on the image but it is much paler more like Flesh. The bulb is very difficult to find, and once installed because it is mounted almost on top of the lamp, it is much too visible.
I've admired the LZF lamps for years and am excited to have them in my home. They're elegant and a perfect complement to our family room.

I was very excited about this lamp, it looks fantastic online however in real life it looks cheap and feels very flimsy. You can tell it is made of cheap plastic and it does not give off pleasant light as the bulb essentially sticks out the top. This is definitely not a $555 lamp. If I had paid $75 (tops) I might be satisfied with it and willing to play around with it to reconfigure the wiring so that the bulb doesn't stick out. Needless to say this was returned.
