While it took a little bit longer to install than I had hoped, the fixture worked great as a solution for a surface mount ceiling fixture. Having trouble finding something that would work here, I cut the cord down to just 4" and hung it in the hallway. I am back on the site buying more for other hallways and the laundry room. I was able to put a very short 13 watt compact fluorescent inside without having too much of a hot spot on the bottom. The glass is nice and the mechanism for re-lamping is fast and easy to use.

I have 2 comments, first one is that the canopy seems to screw in with one screw not two as most canopys do. The canopy doesn't sit flush to ceiling as a result. The clear clips that hold the globe are more visable than I'd like.

I think I looked at just about every pendant available and settled on this one. I don't regret it. It's simple shape whispers "elegant" without screaming for attention. I have it hanging in a small room above a Saarinen tulip table, they look like they were made to go together. It was very easy to install and gives off a beautiful soft light. The globe and hardware are well made. This light should also be made in a larger size, it might look a little small over a large table. This is one purchase I pat myself on the back for making every time I pass by.

I love the globe, but the ceiling adapter is terribly cheap and gaudy. The housing has the look of a Chinese-made product. They just don't match. It was also unusually difficult to install.

I bought one, had it hung, and then hours later, the globe came crashing to the ground, even though it was hung properly. I called YLighting Customer Service and they promptly spoke to the vendor and the next day I received a new globe.

We noticed that the new one was thicker and had a smaller opening- so there was some defect in the globe. If there hadn't been such great customer service, I don't think I would have bought the second one for the other hallway!

The light is inviting -- one works wonderfully over a kitchen sink and in the adjoining cafe table. The right accent for a mid-century home.
