The Art of Air Management. Fan motors use copper windings, sealed precision steel bearings, and computer-controlled rotor / stator alignment to ensure minimal noise and optimal air circulation.
For an 8 ft bedroom ceiling this Artemis model is the right one, correct? no remote? I am prepared to order but really want a remote. hoe does the wall switch work? I assume you can have light on without fan and vice versa. TY, Lisa
Hello there, and thanks for your interest in this design. Yes there is a remote where you can choose between 6 airflow speeds, operate the light on/off, change the direction of blade rotation for warm or cool months, or turn the entire unit on/off. Detailed instructions for this fan and all of its components can be found by visiting the "specifications" tab on this product page and downloading the PDF manufacturer instruction sheet by clicking on the provided link. Keep in mind that 16.75" is the minimum length for this fan, meaning that it would come very, very close to the top of people's heads. If this seems to be cutting it too close, perhaps consider going with a "hugger" fan instead, which does not have a down rod. Needing a fan for a 8'x10' cupola 25 ft. up. Cupola will have louvers to allow air flow up and out. Centered in the house over a 10' x20' balcony on the 2nd floor. House design encourages the venture (sp?) effect. for air flow.
Hi there. This seems like a good model for the space you described, especially because it is large enough and powerful enough to move air throughout your home in such a large space. The nice thing about this model is that it is fully compatible with the ¾" I.D. DR5 Series Downrods, meaning that you could swap out the down rod at any time and get a longer rod as well if you wanted the fan to hang lower in the cupola. Many fans do not offer this feature. To discuss this fan in greater depth, or to follow up with anything else, feel free to give us a call anytime at 866.842.6209 and we are more than happy to go over some options with you. Is there a longer extension or hanging rod? The specs give a 6" hanging rod as the maximum.
Good question! To clarify; this comes with 3.5" and 6" downrods but is not limited to either. Minka Aire offers 3/4 Inch Dr5 Series Downrods starting at 12 inches (all non-flush mount Minka Aire fans come with 3.5" and 6" downrods) up to 72" in length! Check them out at http://www.ylighting.com/mnk-dr5.html . Thank you for your interest in the Artemis XL5 Ceiling Fan. Please let us know if we can offer any additional clarification beyond this - we are happy to help! Stephanie, YLighting Customer Service - 866.428.9289
