This fan is just what I was hoping for. I was looking for a fan with a light that would complement the modern, clean lines of my apartment. It's quiet, effective and unobtrusive. It's also one of the few modern-looking fans that manages to incorporate a light without becoming humungously ugly! The wall switch that comes with it is a little clunky, which is why I gave it four rather than five stars, but it works well.

This fan works great, my only complaint is that out of 4 speed levels, the lowest levels 1 and 2, don't do much. The I wish the jump from speed 3 to 2 would be smoother. You might as well turn it off if you're goin to have it set on the lower speeds.
Installs no problem. A bit heavy, but it doesn't wobble at all. The switch plate looks cheesy. Don't need the big company name on it.

If you're looking for a ceiling fan that looks premium, but doesn't stand out too much this is a good solution. My one complaint was that it was the wooden blades painted aluminum did feel a little cheap/unresolved. But overall, it's a huge improvement over most ceiling fans.

It is so not necessary to buy an ugly ceiling fan! The Aluma is a great buy and very aesthetically appealing if your style is contemporary.

The fan is as attractive and clean-cut as pictured, from a distance. But be aware that the blades are actually just painted fiberboard, not metal or glass or plastic. From far away it looks fine, and it probably reduces the weight of the unit, but up close I feel that it looks and feels a bit cheap.
I agree with the other reviews that the wall switch is a bit clunky and unattractive.

The ceiling fan looks ok but the light never worked and Ylighting will not send us a new fan. HORRIBLE customer service

This is a great looking fan. So very simple without all of that ridiculous fussiness you find on most ceiling fans. The blades are squared off at the ends, which gives it a bit of an industrial feel, but not too bulky. This is what they should all look like.

We spent considerable time searching for a contemporary fan with a light elegantly incorporated into the design -- that was also very affordable. The Aluma fan looked great online, but even better in our home. The electrician had to run a new wire to the ceiling box due to the 3-way connection required, but it was well worth it. Now we can control the four fan speeds and dim the light from the wall switch -- a big improvement over the old-style pull-chain controls of our old fan.

I like the look and the way the fan doesn't stand out from the ceiling. The matte white blades and frosted white globe cover help with that. I had to call my electrician to install because there was an additional wire needed that my prior fan didn't have/need.
It does have a small noise on the second highest fan speed, but I am hoping that will just need some adjustment.

Love this ceiling fan so much that I purchased it for the town house we just sold and re-purchased it for the new house.
did the same thing with the Ball ceiling fan. Both are Great!

We purchased this fan (for home) because it looks great online and happy how it looks in person. Contemporary and well made - except for the blades. The description states that the fan is aluminum and glass but the blades are not aluminum, they're fiberboard with a silver finish. Very misleading, and frustrating, as someone who looks at these things prior to purchasing. We're keeping it because it looks and works fine but probably won't purchase any more.
