We purchased this because we wanted controls on the wall. One addition would be for it to have backlighting.

The product works with the the Concept II fan that we purchased. It controls the light and fan as promised but there is one major flaw that I wish we knew about before hand. When you turn on the remote unit there is a blue led indicator light that is extremely bright and stays on at all times. This became problematic at night when the led light lit up our entire room. The intensity of the light is like a high powered night light. We have to cover the wall plate every night to sleep. The manufacturer claims that this light cannot be turned off or removed. We're still exploring how to block the annoying light.

Nice addition for my ceiling fan. While I had to change the receiver and remote settings because interference was causing the lights to go on periodically, it was easy and the remote now works just fine.

We bought this wall control unit because we didn't want to be dependent on a remote, which can get misplaced. It works beautifully; even remembers the last light level. If you prefer to have the remote as a backup; no problem. Although read instructions carefully on finding the right frequency, especially if you have more of same type of fan in the house. Otherwise, a single remote will control all fans.
