The Aurora fan incorporates a circline fluorescent lamp within a translucent diffuser, providing the incandescent equivalent of 180 watts of long-lasting, color-corrected, energy saving fluorescent light. The innovative Aurora fan qualifies for the EPA's Energy Star labeling as a highly efficient, energy conserving design.

The bottom rotor is die-cast aluminum and along with the other metal components is available in either a brushed aluminum or gloss white finish. The body of the Aurora is an acrylic diffuser which transmits light both downward and reflects light upward for complete room lighting. The three blades are plywood construction and painted to match the fan finish. Choose from 42" or 52" blade span.

Note: The fluorescent ballast is not dimmable. Any control ordered with the Aurora will be supplied in a non-dimming version.

Includes 6" and 16" downrods for 14" or 24" overall height. Optional downrods are available for alternate heights. The Aurora fan can accommodate a sloped ceiling up to 33°. For slopes over 33° but under 45°, use the sloped ceiling adapter (sold separately).

  • Airflow measured in cubic feet per minute at high speed (CFM) = 6144.28
  • Watts at high speed = 69.6
  • Airflow efficiency at high speed (CFM/Watts) = 88.28

Ron Rezek

Ron Rezek designed the world's first contemporary-styled ceiling fan, the Stratos, in 1986. But his list of accomplishments in the design world is long and varied, from lifeguard equipment to contemporary lighting. In 1997, Ron started The Modern Fan Co. in Ashland, Oregon, which produces and sells only contemporary ceiling fans.

His ceiling fans have been widely used in hotels, restaurants, retail and institutional applications, and all types of residential projects.

Ron Rezek's Philosophy:
"I don't think contemporary means a stark white room. I think it means a tasteful alignment of important elements. There are some designers who copy the Modernists who have come before. But I think 'contemporary' is the pursuit of the new." "People assume that all contemporary fixtures are more functional than traditional ones. That is because contemporary fixtures are easier to clean and they seem to be more utilitarian based on their appearance. And because of their simplicity and lack of ornamentation, they also have an alliance with the industrial look. But all of this doesn't necessarily translate into function. The Modern Fan Co.'s fans are designed to be functional and energy efficient. This is part of being contemporary and pushing the edge. Energy efficiency is the wave of the future."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek, contemporary designed ceiling fan for an affordable price. Beautifully designed with concealed fasteners. Easy to follow instructions. Optional downrod lengths allow for personal preference for installation. Extremely quiet motor. Color corrected fluorescent light fixture @ 3000k is pretty good, but would have liked it to be a little closer to the color temperature of an incandescent bulb. In addition, I feel that the ceiling fan should automatically come with a standard wall control. Very satisfied with purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking, great performing fan Install was easy with good instructions to guide me. The remote reciever was a tight fit in the fan base though. The balance was fine right out of the box so I didn't even need the balancing kit it came with. It pushes plenty of air and does it very quietly. We were concerned that the light might cast strobe-like shadows through the blades but no such thing occured. Great product. We plan on getting more fans from Modern Fan Company for our other rooms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple design, excellent uplighting, one design flaw.... We installed this fan in our office and love it - I ordered another one for my current renovation project. The design is simple and elegant, while the quality of the uplighting is superb. There is one major flaw with the fan is the need to remove the bottom part of the fan (fan blade assembly) to get to the circleline flourescent light bulb to replace it. Luckily, it is a long lasting bulb and it isn't necessary to change it very often!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish, clean and simple, yet functional for a modern fan with a light. Generally speaking, I am not a "fan" of fans with lights. I hate the look. I don't like multitasking bulking things hanging from a ceiling. I like the simple look. But for this particular bedroom, a light/fan combo was needed for practical reasons and it had to hang low. This particular model did the trick. Very practical, yet stylish and clean looking. My only big complaint is that it looks like I'll have to remove the blades to change out the circular bulb which mounts ABOVE the blades. Unless I am mistaken, that somehow the closed circular bulb can open to clear the down rod, it is going to be a huge pain to replace which is quite a flaw. I suppose it being fluorescent, it won't require changing as much, but nevertheless, a task when the time comes. I guess that's a justified sacrifice for the positives that come with this unit. Either way, I am a fan of this fan and would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed and efficient product We had Aurora installed several months ago and what a great fan this is. It is in my home office, where I had to turn on the four ceiling lights to see computers (300W); but the Aurora's light is sufficient for computer viewing now saving bundle of energy cost. I love the design and quietness as well. Hope to install one or two more later.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking fan that moves air The fan looks great and moves alot of air. I have a 42 inch in a 9x13 room, and a 52 inch in a 12x17 room, and they are great in those rooms. I also have a 52 inch in a 12x19 room and that is definitely the maximum size for this fan.

I have an Aurora ceiling fan that I bought from you in June, 2011 and the light does not come on with the remote switch but the fan works. How do I replace the circular bulb without taking the fan apart.
