There are no embellishments on this fan to try and capture the sensibilities of some motif from another time. It is simply a great, quiet, and well balanced fan that has its shape defined by its function. It doesn't compete for attention in the room with other furnishings. It just does its job - very well. Looks really good on my ceiling. Installed fairly easily, although one of the screws from the blade shredded the threading. So one blad has only 2 of 3 screws. Hope it holds up ok. Other than that, I'm very pleased.

We were looking for a modern fan that wouldn't call a lot of attention to itself, and this one was perfect. Nice and simple, looks sharp, no frills. Works great, super quiet, more than enough airflow for our needs. The only part that was slightly goofy was the top housing didn't fit snug against the ceiling. (Had it installed on a 15' ceiling by a professional, so didn't get a good look myself, but something about the position of the screws.) But pretty minor, and probably something specific to the box it was installed on. Very happy, would buy again.

this fan obviated the need for an airconditioner in my bedroom. It is beautiful and runs very quietly. I purchased both the remote and wall switch, but probably didn't need the wall switch. I had previously purchased the same fan, but with the lighting unit. That fan works wonderfully as well, but the lighting fixture is useless. It provides a very dim light, almost like a night light. I removed the lighting portion very after purchase.

I love this fan. Have been looking at it for several years. Just bought a house that is ski lodge/rustic/70s style with high beamed ceiling in great room looking out at mountains - this fan absolutely gives a cool modern twist to the room. Additionally, it provides great air flow. The house does not have a/c (you allegedly don't need it in the mountains lol but hot is hot.....). So, I bought two of them for each end of the room and they more than compensates for the lack of a/c. Highly recommend the fan!

My Velo arrived with wireless remote and no light kit (as ordered). Our electrician installed the fan on a barrel ceiling and got it up and running without a problem. I opted to control the fan both with the wireless remote and fan speed module (Lutron HomeWorks), fortunately we pre-wired 3 wires in order to support this mode, otherwise only one control method would have been possible.

It's been installed about a week and we find ourselves turning on the fan as the house stays warm through the afternoon. The only "gotcha" is the silver color is more reflective (glossy) than I would have liked, a matte option for the blades would be good.

This fan is definitely worth the price. While admittedly more expensive than your run-of-the-mill ceiling fan, it is worth it! The look is sleek and modern, but better yet, it performs magically. It is very, very quiet and even more efficient. My only recommendation is to get the 24-inch downrod if your ceiling is high enough. This will help the fan move even more air. It is currently 80 degrees inside my apartment, but feels like it is 72 with the fan above me!

Besides looking very modern, sleek and super cool . . . . its the greatest fan I ever had; we installed it in my study and its great. It does its job perfectly, giving cool nice air . Modern, industrial, sleek, architectural, minimal and quiet are just a few adjectives that come to mind when I think of the Velo Cieling Fan, which I've had for a month now. It hangs directly above my bed and even on high, only the sounds of the blades slicing through the air can be heard - the motor is nearly noiseless.

Had fan for about 3 months in bedroom, and very pleased. My bedroom is furnished pretty modernly, but with lots of wood, and the stainless finish compliments it nicely. Above even the design is the unit's features--I'm using it as the room's primary light source, and it's fairly warm while still being able to be powerful if needed. The remote option is also fantastic.

Very nice fan. The design is reminiscent of an aircraft propeller. I particularly like the fact that it has only three blades. This gives a cool, aerial look, much more inspiring than the clunky traditional ceiling fan. The low and medium settings are quiet and the contoured blades move a lot of air. No use for the high setting which moves too much air and is noisy.

I have two Velo fans in my solar/green building condo. Very good at night to cool the interior so I use less AC. They are beautiful, minimalist, very efficient and quiet. I recommend the longer stem (special order) for enhanced air movement. Very pleased.

I ordered the Velo for my teenage son's room and he is thrilled with the modern high-tech look as well as the quiet and efficient air flow. The electrician said it was the easiest fan installation he's done in his 10 years of installing fans. I got both the wall control and the remote and would definitely recommend getting both for a bedroom. I then ordered a second Velo for my home office and it also was an easy installation and worked perfectly right out of the box. The fan is silent on "low" and "medium". There is a mild whirring sound on "high", but not enough to be bothersome. I doubt I'll use "high" anyway since "medium" creates a very comfortable air flow. I found Ylighting easy to deal with and would use them again.

I really like this fan's shape, but had to get used to the three blades instead of the four blade one it replaced. Also, because the blades taper from large to small, it tends to look smaller in diameter than it really is.
