FLOS Lighting

FLOS was founded in 1962. The very same year they began producing a number of lamps that were to become classics in Italian industrial design. These first lamps were Arco, Relemme, Toio and Taccia all designed by Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni. As a tangible proof of their timeless design and technical excellence, these lamps continue to be produced today.

From the very outset, FLOS has been characterized by its high-quality approach to lamp design and production. Many of the numerous lamps designed for the company, first by Achille and Piergiacomo, are undoubtedly some of the best-known and most successful products of industrial design. They have won awards and historical critical accolades, and are included in all the most important collections and design museums around the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful glowing light from a chandelier that integrates well in a room that mixes the traditional and the contemporary. The Edison bulbs, the chrome armature and the black wires that loop in graceful curves make for an edgier take on traditional, colonial-style chandeliers. The look works very well with my mix of modern and antique furniture, especially black Windsor dining chairs. The smaller size looks fine in a room with sixteen-foot ceilings. The fixture is on a dimmer, and on low settings the bulbs approximate soft candle-light. Don't plan to use this fixture for task lighting. Ylighting intially forgot to send the Edison bulbs, but amazingly managed to get them delivered the afternoon of the day I called. Great service!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous chandelier, but FLOS' service can be better. The assembly and installation was not too hard. 2 of us had no experience with chandelier or light fixture before, but we were able to do it. We hang it over our dinning table and were very happy about how it looked. Our friends were all wow'ed by it. The only complaint was that when we received it from FLOS the first time, they sent only 25 light bulbs instead of 30. So I had to call YLighting Customer Service to get the remaing 5. Then I found out one of the sockets was not working. The bulb couldn't light up inside of it. I called again and was advised to use a pointed tool to poke inside of the socket. That did the trick. The YLighting Customer Service was very nice throughout, so I don't blame them for those little troubles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect in any room :) Our interior designer actually recommended this light to us and we love it..I hung the 30 bulb one in our florida room and it looks great...the only drawback is that the exact bulb is hard to find in normal light stores or the home depot i had to order them through ylighting so i suggest you order 10 extra bulbs right off the bat cause although u can find a 15W E14 base bulb the shape is different from the ones made by the usual light bulb companies...other than that i love it and think it worth the trouble for the bulbs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning I have been dreaming of using this chandelier in a client's home for ages and finally had the opportunity! This fixture is spectacular, although you have to put all the pieces together on your own and is definitely a two-person job. The smaller size is quite large, still, but it really is much lighter in person. I used it in a smaller-scaled dining room, but it absolutely works and gives off a great amount of light. I would highly recommend this statement piece! Thanks as always YLighting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This chandelier is simply beautiful. Beautiful, classy and unique. I did not regret to start the decoration concept from this chandelier piece.I picked the wood flooring and the paint colors while waiting for the delivery. The result for the great room in rectangular shape was just as amazing as I imagine it. In fact, the whole idea was to purchase a second one ( the 30 light bulbs size) as soon as the first is paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderful Chandelier!! We purchased this chandelier in brass for over our eat-in kitchen table, but found that the chrome would go better with our Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chairs, so we bought that one also, and sent the brass over to Europe for our other home. It was just so beautiful that we couldn't part with it. The effect is extraordinary and the illumination is both bright and subtle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase experience The time it took to order and go through the purchasing experience was great, I would recommend dealing with Ylighting for future lighting orders. I just had the chandelier hung and it looks wonderful. I'm looking forward to it looking great in my space for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome chandelier! This chandelier is a wonderful transitional piece. It looks very modern yet does not look out of place in an older home. I like the open look that it achieves. It's achieves quite a WOW statement. The sales people and customer service at Ylighting are the best!

What bulb does this use?

Asked by: Jeffo
Hi there! These use 15W E14 clear ball incandescent lamps. The fixture comes with the quantity needed for the fixture so you won't need to purchase those up front. Thanks for reaching out! Please let us know if we can offer further clarification! Stephanie, YLighting Customer Service - 866.428.9289

I would like to order the Mod 2097.  What factors do I use to decide if I should get the 30" or 50" diameter?  It is going in a dining room.  thank you

Asked by: keenam
Hi there, nice choice this chandelier is a customer favorite. In terms of ease of installation, both versions of this fixture will be identical in canopy size and junction box requirements. That said, just because the 50" is larger, it will not require special modification of your ceiling to accommodate the size. Other than that, it really depends on how much of a commanding impression you want the fixture to make in your dining area, and how much light you would like it to give off. The 50" will naturally produce more light than the smaller 30", so if the fixture is going to be standing on its own with no supplementary light sources around the room, that is something to take into consideration so that your diners have enough light. To discuss this fixture in greater depth, or to follow up with anything else, feel free to give us a call anytime at 866.842.6209 and we are more than happy to go over some options with you. Can this chandelier be mounted on a sloped ceiling (and is the height adjustable)? Also, where can I get the light bulbs for replacement? Thanks!

Asked by: Heron
Hi there, and thanks for your interest in this design. Yep this fixture can be installed on a sloped ceiling and the cording can be cut to suit your project and spacial constraints. Be sure to visit the "specifications" tab on this product page and download the PDF manufacturer instruction sheet by clicking on the provided link in order to access some visual aids and product diagrams that may be helpful as well. The 15W E14 clear ball incandescent lamps can easily be purchased online or even in a local home department store as well. Please let us know if we can offer any additional clarification beyond this - we are happy to help! Parin YLighting Customer Service

I like this fixture but I prefer it with the Thomas Edition Golden Bulbs.  I can only find these bulbs in 25 watt but this fixture says to use 15 watt bulbs.  Question:  Can the fixture handle 25 watt bulbs?
