The D425 recessed light trim is a good solution if you need uniform lighting of a small to large wall areas. I used it to illuminate floor to ceiling bookcases that were 12 feet high and 6 feet high. Three 50watt light fixtures mounted at varying distances on the cathedral ceiling, were sufficient to brightly illuminate an entire bookcase. The use of a mix of bulb types from 24 degrees to 40 degrees resulted in good uniformity of lighting. With one exception, installation was quite easy. The exception was the required low voltage extension cord for the bulb. This is required because of the large adjustment in depression angle provided by the fixture coupled with the (small) size of the moving bulb mounting fixture. The two wires of this extension cord are terminated in crude "pins" composed of soldered multi-strand wire. The diameter of these pins are much larger than those of MR16 bulbs, which require setting using pliers and careful application of much greater force than should be required. Replacement of these two "pins" with a fixture having two pins separated by the same spacing and having the same pin diameter as the MR16 bulb would make this trim almost perfect.
The only other problem experienced was that some of the miniature screws in the trim were missing when removed from the box. In all but one case, they were found by tearing the box apart. In the exception case, I was able to find a replacement in my rather extensive store of nuts and bolts. However, without such a replacement handy, a replacement fixture or screw would have to be obtained. The small size of the screws make it difficult to find at the local hardware level.

This product has a great design. We have them in the kitchen are able to point lighting in whatever position we need. The brushed nickel matches the appliances to give a real nice look.

Two of these recessed light fixtures will be installed in a sloped ceiling to wash light over a wall of bookcases. Because the ceiling slopes up and away from the wall, I needed lights that could be rotated significantly to be aimed back on the wall. These lights do the job and look great. Thanks YLighting for seeing me through yet another renovation project.

We wanted a good looking modern light that would work for a high and vaulted ceiling and throw its accent light on the walls, and not in your eye - this product does just that and allows you to rotate it in every direction. Very happy!

The product is quite functional based on its ability to direct light in many directions. Directions for wiring the various options, however, are poor/non-existent. One unit I purchased was mis-wired at the factory. I had to uninstall the unit and correct the problem myself which cost me needless time. Suggest you enhance the quality assurance programs currently in place at the Chinese manufacturer's facilities!

Provide exactly the type of light we were looking for. They are dynamic and great with dimmers and lighting artwork. We bought a ton of them and are using them in several rooms. Highly recommend.

We chose these lights to illuminate a long wall in our living room. We needed something that would light artwork accurately and not hang down too much from the ceiling. These lights have a very warm glow that has transformed the mood of the room. You can use either spots or floods in these lights with dimmers depending on your lighting needs. We are very pleased with our purchase.

This recessed lighting is used through out office to highlight our unique Alaska artwork. The lights are adjustible to point directly where we want them and are not too bright causing a glare. I have two at my desk area an appreciate the indirect lighting they provide.

I just installed this product. It is higher quality than a smiliar product from a different manufacturer which I used in a different part of the house a couple years ago. Installation was easy, daisy-chaining was painless. There is no light leakage. The only thing I would change is the trim ring around the actual bulb is black rather than white, like the rest of this fixture.

I needed an adjustable fixture that would highlight my art and work with my cathedral ceiling. This fixture is sharp looking and met my needs in every respect. I also received outstanding service from YLighting.

We've installed D425, in white, in almost every room in our home. Beyond their use as art work or book case washes, they provide fine general lighting in a variety of rooms.
We've grouped them in numbers from 2 to 8, placed them on dimmers and used them in the living room and dinning room to light the entire areas. We can easily control where and how much light we want with out having pendants or other lights of ceiling mounted lighting breaking up the sight line.
Installation is easy (we've used remodeling cans) and adjusting the lights goes fast. The one drawback is changing the bulbs. Depending on what batch you get, some require a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the light bulbs and install a new one. Also, some of the units are incredibly difficult to change out the bulbs. The housing sticks and it's very frustrating to get the bulb out. Be sure to check each unit before installing and lubricate or sand with a metal file to be sure you can change out the bulb.
