The Aurora fan incorporates a circline fluorescent lamp within a translucent diffuser, providing the incandescent equivalent of 180 watts of long-lasting, color-corrected, energy saving fluorescent light. The innovative Aurora fan qualifies for the EPA's Energy Star labeling as a highly efficient, energy conserving design.

The bottom rotor is die-cast aluminum and along with the other metal components is available in either a brushed aluminum or gloss white finish. The body of the Aurora is an acrylic diffuser which transmits light both downward and reflects light upward for complete room lighting. The three blades are plywood construction and painted to match the fan finish. Choose from 42" or 52" blade span.

Note: The fluorescent ballast is not dimmable. Any control ordered with the Aurora will be supplied in a non-dimming version.

Includes 6" and 16" downrods for 14" or 24" overall height. Optional downrods are available for alternate heights. The Aurora fan can accommodate a sloped ceiling up to 33°. For slopes over 33° but under 45°, use the sloped ceiling adapter (sold separately).

  • Airflow measured in cubic feet per minute at high speed (CFM) = 6144.28
  • Watts at high speed = 69.6
  • Airflow efficiency at high speed (CFM/Watts) = 88.28

Ron Rezek

Ron Rezek designed the world's first contemporary-styled ceiling fan, the Stratos, in 1986. But his list of accomplishments in the design world is long and varied, from lifeguard equipment to contemporary lighting. In 1997, Ron started The Modern Fan Co. in Ashland, Oregon, which produces and sells only contemporary ceiling fans.

His ceiling fans have been widely used in hotels, restaurants, retail and institutional applications, and all types of residential projects.

Ron Rezek's Philosophy:
"I don't think contemporary means a stark white room. I think it means a tasteful alignment of important elements. There are some designers who copy the Modernists who have come before. But I think 'contemporary' is the pursuit of the new." "People assume that all contemporary fixtures are more functional than traditional ones. That is because contemporary fixtures are easier to clean and they seem to be more utilitarian based on their appearance. And because of their simplicity and lack of ornamentation, they also have an alliance with the industrial look. But all of this doesn't necessarily translate into function. The Modern Fan Co.'s fans are designed to be functional and energy efficient. This is part of being contemporary and pushing the edge. Energy efficiency is the wave of the future."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking fan that moves air The fan looks great and moves alot of air. I have a 42 inch in a 9x13 room, and a 52 inch in a 12x17 room, and they are great in those rooms. I also have a 52 inch in a 12x19 room and that is definitely the maximum size for this fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light Bulb replacement Issue I submitted a review initially that I was very pleased with the fan's appearance and function. Within 10 months, the bulb was burned out. Replacing it was a nightmare even with the professional technician who could not take apart and took down the entire unit and left it on the floor. Meanwhile, I contacted The Modern Fan Company and tried to follow instructions on how to replace the bulb. Following their instruction, we could not take apart. Company finally agreed to replace it for me and sent me a newer model which had a different looking roter assembly. Hopefully, it is easier to replace the bulb when timecomes. It seemed the receiver was a correct one so I cannot figure out why the bulb only lasted around 2000 hours. Also with everything working perfectly it takes 45 minutes to replace the light bulb. I am still giving the above rating as the problem I had was handled by The Modern Fan Company ver well. I still feel something to be desired in the way the fan is designed. I am willing to live with the replacement task it only it happens every three years or more. The fan has been working great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product. We love the look, easy to use. Great design and look. Easy to use. We have a clicking noise with fan on high but that may be installation issue. We are going to check it out and try to fix it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple design, excellent uplighting, one design flaw.... We installed this fan in our office and love it - I ordered another one for my current renovation project. The design is simple and elegant, while the quality of the uplighting is superb. There is one major flaw with the fan is the need to remove the bottom part of the fan (fan blade assembly) to get to the circleline flourescent light bulb to replace it. Luckily, it is a long lasting bulb and it isn't necessary to change it very often!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek, contemporary designed ceiling fan for an affordable price. Beautifully designed with concealed fasteners. Easy to follow instructions. Optional downrod lengths allow for personal preference for installation. Extremely quiet motor. Color corrected fluorescent light fixture @ 3000k is pretty good, but would have liked it to be a little closer to the color temperature of an incandescent bulb. In addition, I feel that the ceiling fan should automatically come with a standard wall control. Very satisfied with purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very poorly designed! The light fixture is above the fan blades so that when the light is on and the fan is running, the light flickers a constant moving shadow across the room.
