The Cirrus fan features a simple, vertical orientation particularly appropriate for lofts, stores and other high-ceiling applications. The fan (only) is Energy Star certified, made of all die-cast aluminum and offered in a hand brushed aluminum or gloss white finish. The plywood laminate blades have a 14° pitch and are available in a white, aluminum or maple finish with a 36", 42", or 52" blade span.

The motor is a high power silicon steel unit with 18 poles, designed for long life and cool running, and is controlled by two capacitors. The Cirrus motor can run at any of three speeds set by the control. Several switching and control options for both speed and light control are available as options. Optional light kits include a halogen spot light which provides direct illumination (adds 2" to height of the fan), and an incandescent or fluorescent glass globe which diffuses light and provides general illumination (adds 3" to height of the fan). Note: Any control ordered with a fan that has been configured with an energy-saving CFL will be supplied in a non-dimming version.

Includes 6" and 13" downrods for 17" or 24" overall height. Optional downrods are available for alternate heights. The Cirrus fan can accommodate a sloped ceiling up to 33°. For slopes over 33° but under 45°, use the sloped ceiling adaptor (sold separately).

  • Airflow measured in cubic feet per minute at high speed (CFM) = 6618.12
  • Watts at high speed = 88.5
  • Airflow efficiency at high speed (CFM/Watts) = 75.21

Optional control features:

  • 001 - Fan Speed Control: A basic fan control used to operate a fan only, providing four speeds.
  • 002 - Three Wire Fan Speed and Light Control: Intended for operation of a fan with light. Requires two circuits (three wires). Provides four speeds and full range dimming (except fluorescent lights, use 002ND non-dimming for fluorescent lighting). Any ceiling fan using a fluorescent lamp may not be dimmed or operated with a dimming control.
  • 003 - Handheld Remote Control: Designed for independent operation of a fan and light using only one circuit (two wires). Provides three speeds and full range dimming (for halogen or incandescent lamps) or "on/off" switching (for fluorescent lamps) and comes with a wall hanging bracket.
  • 004 - Two Wire Fan Speed and Light Control: Designed for independent operation of fan and light using only one circuit (two wires). Provides three speeds and full range dimming (for halogen or incandescent lamps) or "on/off" switching (for fluorescent lamps) and wires into wall box.
  • 005 - Wall Control with Remote Handset: A combination control package including the 004 Fan and Light Control and 003 Handheld Remote Control handset. Provides three speeds and full range dimming (for halogen or incandescent lamps) or "on/off" switching (for fluorescent lamps) from wall control and compatible remote handset.

Ron Rezek

Ron Rezek designed the world's first contemporary-styled ceiling fan, the Stratos, in 1986. But his list of accomplishments in the design world is long and varied, from lifeguard equipment to contemporary lighting. In 1997, Ron started The Modern Fan Co. in Ashland, Oregon, which produces and sells only contemporary ceiling fans.

His ceiling fans have been widely used in hotels, restaurants, retail and institutional applications, and all types of residential projects.

Ron Rezek's Philosophy:
"I don't think contemporary means a stark white room. I think it means a tasteful alignment of important elements. There are some designers who copy the Modernists who have come before. But I think 'contemporary' is the pursuit of the new." "People assume that all contemporary fixtures are more functional than traditional ones. That is because contemporary fixtures are easier to clean and they seem to be more utilitarian based on their appearance. And because of their simplicity and lack of ornamentation, they also have an alliance with the industrial look. But all of this doesn't necessarily translate into function. The Modern Fan Co.'s fans are designed to be functional and energy efficient. This is part of being contemporary and pushing the edge. Energy efficiency is the wave of the future."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the look, very streamlined We have not yet gotten to use this ceiling fan but we love the look of it. It is very streamlined and designed to work on a shed ceiling like ours that is slightly slanted upwards. Along with the downrod, the fan should be perfect for great airflow around our bedroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Fan Quiet, even on medium, great looking fan, causes good airflow even on low setting. Very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and Functional Love the sleek design, looks great, and works great too. Halogen light is bright enough for the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this fan. I thought maybe it would look weird with that bullet bottom but on my high ceiling, it's pretty invisible. Just plain attractive, modern, quiet and effective!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fan It's tough to find a clean modern simple fan like this - it works really well in any space and so nice in a bedroom (that's where I put mine).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fan We have had this fan for a while and we like it a lot. We got the light option as well - it is in our bedroom right over our bed and the airflow is just right to keep the room cool but not be too much annoying airflow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install. Clean design. Installation was straight forward. Love the clean design. The product came with a card that blocks off light from the fixture. Thought it could be a fire hazard. I would feel better if the card was made of flame-resistant material. Room for improvement. Overall, it worked for my space.

do you have any cirrus fans that have a blade span of less than 36"...maybe 26 or 30"?

Asked by: Nhech
Hey there! Thank you for your interest in the Cirrus Ceiling Fan by Modern Fan Co.! The 36” blade span for these fans are the shortest available for all styles by this manufacturer, including the Cirrus. If that prevents this style from meeting your design needs; I encourage you to talk to one of our product specialist about our many other beautiful modern lines of fans. Feel free to call us at 866.428.9289. We are happy to help you find the right the right products that help you realize your design vision! Stephanie, YLighting Customer Service

I am going to order 2 fans for my living room, installed side by side. Can I operate both from one remote control? Thank you, Stephanir

Asked by: Steph0513
Great question Steph! Yes, you could with a couple of additional components. You would need to select option 003 for Fan Speed/Light Control Selection as well as order two separate receivers (one for each fan). Please let us know if we can offer any additional clarification beyond this - we are happy to help! Stephanie, YLighting Customer Service - 866.428-9289

What are the power requirement for this fan with and without the light? Watt/amps?

Asked by: dalcorta
Hey there! The fan running at maximum speed with out the light uses 87 watts with a total air flow of 6,550 cubic feet per minute! The light wattage depends on the light kit you chose for your fan and can mean your fan uses 113 - 162 watts when the fan is at full speed. They range from using a 50 Watt halogen lamp, 75 watt halogen lamp or a 26 watt low profile compact fluorescent lamp. Please let us know if we can offer any additional clarification beyond this. Feel free to give us a call anytime at 866.842.6209 to speak to a Product Specialist directly, and we are more than happy to go over some options with you! Stephanie, YLighting Customer Service

Was this fan made to be on 24/7?

Asked by: Verde
Hey there! There should not be any issues with running this 24/7. Modern Fan has a couple of well noted public commercial applications for the Cirrus Ceiling fan where they are run 24/7 year round without any performance issues. This is partly due to the design of the motor. The motor is a high power silicon steel unit with 18 poles, designed for long life and cool running. Thanks for reaching out.
