I bought it for low ceiling dining/ breakfest area. I needed something unobtrusive, very close to the ceiling. Existing light came with the house, ugly, cheap looking canopy style, and it's the first thing you see when you enter the area. Though this light is very simple, clear glass edge make it lovely and elegant, you can definitely say it wasn't bought at a big box store. If you look on the side you can see the lever needed to remove the globe. Not a big deal and it does make changing it very easy. Very cool light - a bit bigger than expected so keep that in mind.
