The drink lamp is a minimalist beauty with a huge light output.
First, the lamp. Really a very simple and beautiful design, the lamp itself is fantastic. My only complaint design wise is with the cord, transformer box, and to a lesser extent dimmer. While the body of the light itself comes in a beautiful finish in the color of your choice, the cord and transformer are clear plastic. While this is clearly a deliberate design choice, in a lamp as elegant as this it feels cheap. A matte finish in a similar color would have looked much better.
My second note is with the light itself. Another reviewer stated that this lamp requires special hard to find bulbs. This is not entirely true. I first tested the lamp with a plain old 100w incandescent bulb. It worked fine aside from a slight hum attributable to the bulb. In the end I settled on the 250w halogen bulbs which are indeed hard to find, but incandescent bulbs will work fine (the halogen gave a much brighter light and eliminated the humming).
Other than these points, the lamp is fantastic, the dimmer is extremely useful and of a solid build quality, and the light throw of the lamp when placed in a room corner is impressive. Ylighting was fantastic and prompt. Great buy at a great price.

Love Drink AND Y Lighting Service!
I wish that I could modify my prior review - the problem turned out to be a blown fuse, which was easily replaced. And Y Lighting provided great customer service - contacting the manufacturer for troubleshooting and then for additional help. Prompt responses.
If anyone has a problem, Drink takes a 3 amp mini-fuse - you open the power box by "worrying" the four slots with a flat screw driver. It takes a while, but then the top pops off. The hardware store didn't have a 3 amp but sold me a 3.15 amp, assuring me that it would work fine. I just put it in, the lamp is working and I'm back in love with Drink.

Loved them - until one stopped working
I have had three white floor lamps for about 2 years and LOVE the way they look and the amount of light they put out.
Because my ceilings are high, I put them on top of 3 foot tall bookcases, and, despite the oddness of that, they really worked visually. I had no problems getting bulbs. As a textile collector with a lot going on visually in a small loft, they were just perfect.
But now one of them has stopped working - a new bulb goes dark within a minute - and I don't have a clue where to get it repaired. This is not a cheap lamp and the uniqueness of the mechanism makes me worried about finding a place to repair it, even in Manhattan.
I've just emailed Y Lighting for assistance. Obviously, anything can break - but if I can't get it fixed, why would I buy a replacement?

One very pretty and functional light.
Great lamp! It's sturdy and heavy so no fear of knocking it over. The adjustable light setting is good.
Because it's really thin, it does tend to look rather small in a home with higher ceilings.
And contrary to what the customer service reps say, this light does not take a standard light bulb. You have to go to the hardware to get the special light for it.

Sleek, clean design
Drink Floor Lamp is understated in all the right ways. It's clean, smooth design mixes into any decor. For a small head, it still lights a room effectively, and the lighting control allows for easy control to create the right amount of light. This lamp is well worth the price.

Simple, sleek, effective!
This lamp fulfilled all my needs. I wanted an unobtrusive yet attractive, bright light for a dark corner. My only complaint is that the required bulb was difficult for us to locate. We eventually found it at local lighting store at a premium price. Hopefully, the bulb will last a while!

Third time I've used this light for its clean lighting function(invisible) .
Do purchase your bulbs ahead of time so you can test your lamps upon arrival. I was told the bulbs are common and could be purchased at Home Depot (not so in my area), so I waited until my lamps arrived. Unfortunately, everywhere I went left me with the information that the bulbs are, indeed, special order bulbs. I was able to order some through Light Bulb Depot (they can be purchased online as well) and received them in time to test the lamps before the end of 15-day return period.
I am quite pleased with the lamps and am sure they would be even brighter in a space not nearly so dark. They seem to be a great lighting solution that can be used in any space.

Very bright and looks great.
I was looking for a minimal lamp that could be dimmed but could be very bright as well. The Drink fit the bill, and I only need that lamp to light up my living room.

Stylish and Minimalist
I bought the drink lamp in chrome. This lamp is modern, elegant and minimalist. The chrome acts as a mirror and reflects the lamp's surroundings. It is visually very appealing. It will work with most decors without being intrusive. Excellent service and quick delivery from Ylighting.

In contrast to new construction housings, remodeling housings are appropriate when you have limited or no access to the space above a new fixture, such as in an apartment or a home without crawl spaces or attics above.
New Construction Housings
In contrast to remodeling housings, new construction housings are bulkier and need to be installed between joist beams or onto hangar bars and thus you need full access to the space above the fixture. This style is best used if you are building in a new space, gutting a room, or have an attic above or pop out ceiling, etc.
Non-IC Rated
Non-IC stands for: non insulation contact. Thus, non-IC-rated housings must be kept at least 3 inches away from any insulation.
IC Rated
IC stands for: insulation contact. Thus, IC-rated housings can come in direct contact with thermal insulation.
MR16 Halogen Bulb
MR 16 is a standard format for halogen multifaceted reflector light bulbs. MR16 lamps are regularly used in place of standard incandescent light bulbs as they harness and shoot light, resulting in less light loss than a traditional bulb. These are best used when you want focused light such as in a pendant over a countertop or an accent light on a painting.

Wet Location
If the lighting system is exposed to direct impact by water from splashing or dripping, which will make the fixture wet, then the location is a wet location. Your most common wet locations are uncovered outdoor areas.
