I now have bought six of these, in the original touch-light format. The problems were that that format was exceptionally delicate. Several had to be rewired to put in a manual off/on switch because the touch feature stopped working. The other issue was the metal stems....accidents happen, but the stems turn out to be rather fragile. The first one arrived by mail and one of the stems was broken in shipping. Another broke when a heater repairman knocked it over, caught it in mid-air, but the force of the fall on his hand broke the stem. They can't be repaired.
Placing the manual on/off switch will be a big improvement.
