Customer ReviewsBetter than most remodel housings, but still has issues The two-piece design is useful and makes it easier to put the housing through the cut-out, however the single clip used to hold the housing base plate in place when installing the can portion often isn't sufficient to keep the plate from pulling away from the ceiling when pushing the can through the plate. While not strictly a problem with the housing, I'd also mention that the trim kits (held in place with spring clips that push against the inside of the housing can) are also very difficult to get tight to the ceiling - they tend to spring back down about 1/4", which is quite annoying. Having said all that, these are sturdy housings and the wiring box is thicker and sturdier than the big box versions, and the locking clips for the housing can are also sturdier than the norm. It's just a shame that a generallly well-made product is hurt by a few design oversights.
