Ron Rezek designed the world's first contemporary-styled ceiling fan, the Stratos, in 1986. But his list of accomplishments in the design world is long and varied, from lifeguard equipment to contemporary lighting. In 1997, Ron started The Modern Fan Co. in Ashland, Oregon, which produces and sells only contemporary ceiling fans.
His ceiling fans have been widely used in hotels, restaurants, retail and institutional applications, and all types of residential projects.
Ron Rezek's Philosophy:
Peclar Nalbandian was born in Beirut, Lebanon of Armenian descent, and studied design in the US. After graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 1993, he relocated to Milano, Italy where he joined Sottsass Associati working closely with Ettore Sottsass. While in Italy he freelanced with Luca Trazzi, Prospero Rasulo, Johanna Grawunder, Luca Scachetti, Ital Form & Mattel Italia. In 1996 he returned to Los Angeles where he collaborated with a variety of companies on numerous projects. He worked at Rezek-Artemide lighting for almost seven years. During that time, he was the designated Senior V.P. of Design & Product Development. Peclar went back and taught a few classes at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California including, Lighting Design, Environmental Design and Furniture Design. He now owns his own design studio where his lighting designs add a uniquely modern feel to any location, residential or commercial.
Rezek by Artemide
Rezek lighting is American design and manufacturing with special attention to "contract" requirements. Specializing in quality lighting for the work and hospitality environment.
I bought this light mid-December 2011 and finally received it a couple of weeks ago (8 weeks) and am very happy with it. The glass shade is very elegant and unique and diffuses the light really well in terms of color and softness.
One small concern: brush marks are visible on the base which should've have been polished out during the finishing phase. Although the marks are uni-directional, I was expecting a higher quality finish for a fixture of this price.

A substantial, modern and beautiful lamp
The search for a quest room side table (20" by 20") lamp came down to the Bolo and the Jupe lamps, by Artemide. I went with the Bolo because of the shape of the shade, which is the less tapered of the two, and am extremely pleased with it. Besides the great price I found on YLighting (not to mention the fast shipping), the Bolo is a substantial, modern and beautiful lamp. I highly recommend it.
