After completing his studies architecture, his friendship with Ettore Sottsass and Alessandro Mendini took him to Milan at the end of the Seventies, where he became one of the main activists in the provocative designer group Memphis. His approach to the creation of new styles in design helped to play an important role in the Memphis movement, but by the late 1980's, de Lucchi had moved on to more traditional designs. After working with Artemide to develop some of their lasting bestsellers, de Lucchi created his Produzione Privata label, which creates small series of his designs featuring exquisite craftsmanship. Customer ReviewsGorgeous design This light had by far the nicest design of any ceiling light we could find. Have been extremely happy with it, from its looks to the amount of light we get out of it. By: Fed, Homeowner (SF) Beautiful but not very practical I had this Lunex fixture installed for about one year. The appearance is very nice, but as time elapsed, I found out the fluorescent light bulb (which cost me $30 at a specialty store, not in Home Depot and other supply store in the neighborhood) burned out already; also many small bugs deposit themselved in the shade tray, and it is not easy to clean up without taking off the shade. Since I cannot do this myself with the use of high ladder, I found it very impractical and the bulb cost is too expensive. I don't think I will buy this one next time. By: Toshiko, Homeowner (Windermere, FL) i was amazed at how much this lighting product is worth personally in my personal and professional opinion this is overly excessively priced. I cannot imagine somebody paying this exorbirant amount of money. you can probably pay for a similar product at home depot or lowes and sabe you 75 % for the same design. nothing special about the design By: Ray, Architect (Dallas Texas USA) The design is beautiful I love the look of the light though I'm not yet living in the remodeled house so haven't seen it turned on yet. I had to select from one of two sizes, and I bought the larger one. It looks a bit large installed, and I hope I'll get used to it. I bought the larger because it accommodated two bulbs rather than one. I needed more light from the ceiling in the room, a kitchen.
