Based in Milan, Bruno Rainaldi has been designing lighting and furniture for over twenty years. Starting in the distribution department with Maddalena de Padova in the distribution department and later became partner with Enrico Baleri for "Baleri & Associati" , a communication and commercial strategies firm which operates in the contemporary design field.
He then founded and became art director of the design firm "Rari" and started to collaborate with different companies including Alivar, for which he created the "brillant furniture" collection, Blum, MDF, Mussi and Sintesi.
In 2002 he founded "Moco extra ordinary furniture" and designed "ptolomeo", a totemic vertical bookshelf that won the price "Compasso d’Oro" in 2004. During the same year he opened, with Marta Giardini, "Entratalibera", a contemporary art and design space in the center of Milan.
Wit, whimsy and warmth abound in the world of Slamp, an Italian lighting company founded in 1994 by former fashion show designer Robert Ziliani. From the beginning, Slamp has been mixing up a veritable cocktail of contemporary, high-concept aesthetics spiked with a cheeky attitude, and creating sophisticated, contemporary lighting with a playful ambiance.
We returned it.
The chandelier looks nothing like it does on the website. It is made up of plastic panels that look extremely cheap, despite the fact that the chandelier is far from inexpensive. It also comes in a huge 50 lb box completely disassembled and in about 30 pieces, and there is no mention of having to assemble it yourself on the website. We sent it back and had to pay $150 to ship it fed ex, only having taken 1 panel out of the box to discover it is terrible looking plastic. It was a complete waste of time and money to return it.
