Nice lamp, not a great value.

I chose this lamp for its clean modern design and its ability to produce a lot of light by accepting up to a 150W bulb. While it delivers on both these fronts, the quality is not what I would expect.

The base is essentially an unfinished weight disc (dumbbell plate) with a cover on top that doesn't entirely reach the floor leaving part of the disc exposed. The shade has a large visible seam and sits slightly canted as opposed to level with the floor. The switch is plastic and wiggles within its housing.

Beautiful design, quality issues

I agree with the previous review. This is a beautiful lamp. But there are quality issues. Getting the shade level with the floor is a struggle, the on/off switch is extremely finicky and of poor quality. And the large seam in the shade bothers me. Also, the diffuser arrived damanged, but a call to customer service addressed that immediately. I'm keeping the lamp, but am disappointed to find that $400 doesn't buy quality.
