I needed a ceiling fixture that hugged the ceiling due to a door swinging right under it. I looked everywhere but could only find boring, blah fixtures. Just when I was about to give up, I came across this fun but functional light. It has a fun splash of color at the base that creates a colorful reflection on the wall. Everyone comments on how spunky it is. We remodeled our lower level with a clean, transitional/modern style: gray, chocolate brown with orange and seaglass blue accents. This light, with it's ring of outrageous orange is a gem! Excellent quality. Easy to instal. So happy!

This is a well made light. I specified it for a room with a low ceiling-so the low profile of the light is nice. The diffuse glass cover helps prevent hot spots when looking at the light.

I bought 40 cm (15.75 in.) in blue. By mistake, I received them in neutral. Ylighting customer support was great in correcting the mistake - they promptly sent the replacement blue top plates without waiting to get neutral top plates back first. They look great out of the box. I will update my review once I get them installed - can't wait for that!

The light fixture is in my entryway. I purchased the blue rim. I am pleased with the suttle, blue ring of light cast on the celing.It is not distracting to the eye at all. I would recommend this purchase for anyone who likes Italian design.

What is best about this modern style fixture is the accented colored rim is just enough to catch your eye, yet it does not compete with any other style elements in the room. We used eco friendly CFL bulbs. It is bright enough to see well at night, yet soft enough to be easy on the eyes. This light has added a new dimension to our otherwise dull entryway!

We purchased three Elba Incandescent ceiling lights for our guest bedrooms. At the suggestion of our designer we purchased the larger light with dimmer switches to control the intensity of light. They are perfect! They do give a cloud effect, and I am sure the colored ones would be great, we purchased the neutral/clear. Simple, sleek, modern and enclosed for keeping bugs and dirt out. At first I thought the larger ones would be too overwhelming for a bedroom, but on the contrary it is simply a beautiful addition to our home. Only complaint is that we did not receive the proper fittings in one our boxes and had to run to the hardware store to install. Customer service is wonderful at Y-Lighting.

The fixture is beautiful. I would have liked a larger size, but got the largest one made. I ordered the red band. It glows, but does not reflect red light on the ceiling; this is disappointing. It just doesn't have much impact. Nevertheless, I would order it again.

We remodeled our 1912 house with an architect and we really like the clean lines of the Elba ceiling light; we have bought a suite of related fixtures for the other rooms in the house. They update the house, giving it a modern feel, without creating a jarring contrast to the elegance and simplicity of the original house. I recently installed this "size 40" version of this light (2 x 75w bulbs) in my kitchen and have been really happy with it overall. The light it gives is excellent, and the plastic color ring adds a nice accent (although I opted for the clear color in mine). It's well-designed without being obtrusive.

The one drawback of this light is that the plastic mounting plate has a strange requirement: It must be screwed into 4 additional anchor points in the ceiling. (I ended up having to screw 4 drywall anchors into my ceiling to anchor it.) If you don't screw the light down at these points, then it will not be firmly attached to the electrical box and will rotate annoying when you try to screw the glass shade on or off of the lamp.

Other than that, it's a great ceiling light and an excellent value!

I needed a ceiling fixture for my new powder room (newly created in an apartment combo) and the fixture we originally purchased did not work (too "tall" since the ceiling had to be dropped a bit for duct work). I searched thousands - literally - of fixtures online desperately trying to find something to coordinate with the already installed sconces and that I liked and was the right size. The Elba was perfect. When it arrived (very quickly!) I immediately knew it was the right choice. We have other products from YLighting as well and the shop has been a dream to deal with - very responsive.

The electrician, that installed them for me, had to fix the connections on 2 of the 3 I ordered. Very, very, poor quality. The bases are plastic. I like the look of them and they are low profile, but I would like harder next time for a higher quality light for the money. These lights compare to $40.00 lights at Home Depot in their quality.

We like the look! Two relatively minor issues, though. It arrived without any installation instructions. Good thing we paid an electrician to install it ... he was able to figure it out. It is marketed as accommodating 2 75W incandescent bulbs, but the UL sticker says the max is only 60W.

I set this up on a dimmer with clear incandescent 100W bulbs. No complaints. I purchase the version with the orange bezel, which glows above the lamp itself, giving a nice warm floating effect.

This light is really cool. I got the two 100 w bulb fixture, and it gives off a good amount of light, but what makes this fixture cool is the small amount of color that it gives off. I got the fixture in orange for a kids room and the color is subtle and chic.

I am very pleased with the way this light looks and the softness of the light it provides. However, it is attachd to the ceiling by a plastic mounting plate which can be easily cracked if your not careful removing the glass or installing it.

Also, it comes with no instructions so if your mounting it yourself, you will probably need to contact y lighting a few times for help. To their credit, the respond immediately and with helpful instructions.

I'm quite pleased with the light---simple design, elegant, well-made. It looks terrific in my kitchen. It casts a faint halo of color around the light.

As a novice, I found it difficult to install and am still trying to figure out how to get it flush to the ceiling. It comes with no instructions, so you're on your own with the how-to.

In terms of value, I'd say its a little overpriced.
