Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful fixture. I installed two of these fixtures, vertically, on either side of a 32" x 38" framed mirror in 7' x 11' bathroom with 10' lighted ceiling. Each fixture takes 5 40W halogen bulbs, not the 5 60W listed under Specifications, which eliminated my concern about them being too bright and helped me decide. They are beautiful in form and function and, although it was more than I had hoped to spend, I am very happy with them. The light pattern cast from the top and bottom of the cover is a nice effect and an extra bonus. Clean, modern look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value and performance I installed this fixture in two bathrooms of similar size (5" x 9") but slightly darker value in wall color in one room. It provided optimal light in the room painted bright white. The fixture is well-made and has a "light leak" at each side that shows up as a streak effect that's rather nice. For an overhead installation, two screws are prominent on the underside that are a bit distracting. This is my first order from YLighting and I found the technical support and order process to be very helpful and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Bright I bought this fixture for a small, windowless, powder room, and it really brightens up the room. Even though I am using 5 60 watt G9 halogen bulbs, I think 40 or 50 watt G9 bulbs are sufficient. Also, the ends are not closed, so ring-like shadows emerge. Overall, I am happy with this fixture for its simple, clean design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not mount on mirrored surface We purchased two of these lights to mount vertically on the large mirror above our master bathroom vanity. We found them disappointing for a number of reasons: (1) the schematic makes it appear as though the fixture will run flush against the wall, but in fact the rectangular metal base in the center is the only part that is flush and the rest of the fixture sits about 1/2" off the wall. On our mirrored surface, the mirror reflects the unattractive backing and all 12 screws per sconce that are used to hold the lighting strip in place. (2) The frosted glass covers on both of our sconces wobble and hang at a slight angle to the backing; not sure exactly why that is but think it may be because the pre-cut holes in the glass cover (through which you run the screws) are not of uniform size. (3) The 4 screws used to secure the glass cover in place are very prominent on either side of the base. All in all very disappointing and the low point in an otherwise nice bathroom renovation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the cost I was reluctant to spend the money on these, but my architect encouraged me to buy them and I do not regret it. I bought 5 and have them hanging in several bathrooms. They can be hung either horizontally or vertically. The lighting is bright but not harsh and they look beautiful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very elegant, yet effective aesthetic & functional solution for bathroom lighting The simplicity of its design allows for this light to be easily integrated into a wide variety of bathroom designs, and it also provides a very evenly distributed light output; the only negative is that it could probably use one more bulb to increase the maximum output!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and Modern Gives off plenty of light. Using just one over a mirror in a half bathroom. You do see each bulb more so than in the picture. Solid construction. Hoping the G9 halogen blubs will last longer than E11s. That was an important factor in the purchase decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice light for the price The light is very clean and attractive. I only wish the bulbs weren't as visible when they are on. But all in all, a good value for a simple vanity light with clean lines.

What is the kelvin rating of the CF 120v blub? What's the difference to the CF 277v blub?

Asked by: icenet333
Hi there, and thanks for your interest in this design. Color temperature measured along the Kelvin scale is really only used to refer to LED lamping sources because LEDs are offered in an enormous spectrum of possible color temperatures. The color temperature is rarely used with reference to traditional lighting sources like halogen or incandescent, or with CFLs. If you were to check out an LED fixture, you would see the color temperature measurement indicated right in the bulb specifications. The standard voltage for US residential applications is 120V, whereas a much higher 277V is customary for US commercial applications where the fixture will be receiving a lot more use and will therefore need more power (i.e. hospitals, waiting rooms, commercial office buildings, warehouses, etc.) For household settings, go with the 120V. Please let us know if we can offer any additional clarification beyond this - we are happy to help! Parin YLighting Customer Service
