We got the version that takes two 40W halogen bulbs and, based on my prior experience with halogen lamps, I expected it to provide bright light without distinct color cast. In fact, however, the fixture gives off a dim, distinctly warm-toned glow. It's an o.k. choice if it's meant mainly to be decorative but not the right choice if you need a lot of light.
