Design by Jean-Francois Crochet. The wire-wrapped frame of Bobino encases a simple, clean spotlight, perfect for showcasing a special object or area. Created with 52 feet of metal wire, this compact design belies an elegant complexity. While perfect in a commercial setting, Bobino’s design is equally effective in residential applications. He recalls that "I came across people who put me to work. I designed several fashion boutiques in the 60’s "la Gaminerie-Paris", it was still day time. At night I also designed several night clubs: "Le Tiffany", "La nuit des Rois", "Le club Alexandre" in Montreal. I needed to eat well after all....and so I also designed several restaurants and bars in Paris Bastille. Then in 1985 I laid on the beach right next to Sergio Terzani, three tumbles later I was working in his workshop. I believed I designed lamps, I believed I had memory, I got lost in the past to come back to the light with... TerzaniTerzani began as a creative design and production laboratory for lighting objects, with roots in the noble craft traditions of wrought iron, carved wood, and Murano glass. In 1985, Sergio Terzani met Jean-Francois Crochet, an experienced Parisian designer. Together, they updated the craft culture, presenting it from a contemporary design angle. The end result has been "Luce Pensata": lamps and objects as lighting sculptures, no longer accessories or cold technical supports, but the animated, vital protagonists of living areas, with a completely original and identifiable character. Customer ReviewsBroke after 2 years. Unable to install flush with ceiling We bought two of these for our kitchen island. They are very nice looking pendants. However, our contractor was unable to get the pendant base to install flush with the ceiling. As a result, there is a 1/4 - 1/2 inch gap between the ceiling and the base of the light. Also, one pendant stopped working within the first 2 years. We've have had two electricians look at it, and neither could fix it (they stated faulty wiring). By: Linda O., Homeowner (San Francisco, CA) It really is just a wire spool - but cool! The photo looks like it's a spool of wire. And that's exactly what it is. in fact, part of the wire was starting to unspool just a smidge - and to me that seemed just a little cheap looking for the price of the light. I'm surprised they didn't adhere a touch of glue or something to the end of the spool so that wouldn't happen. But it wasn't loosely "unspooling". It was just a little bit sticking out. very minor issue. Otherwise, it looks exactly like the photo.
