Titania Pendant Light

Model: 1D1700000520- Titania Suspension

YLighting is here to help. Call (866) 428 9289

Design by Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto, 1989.
By Luceplan.

The Titania pendant light is a striking, and truly unique light. The elliptical structure of its outer casing, composed of blades, serves simultaneously as a non-dazzle screen, a reflector of the central light source and a heat dissipater. Five pairs of polycarbonate interchangeable filters determine the varying colors of its lamellar body. In fact Titania can be colored as desired, by a simple movement of the hand to slot the different filters in and out and to give the lamp a "dematerialised" color - while always maintaining an emission of white light! A touch of the fingers is enough to send it into a variety of suspended positions and, depending on which angle it is seen from, it assumes completely different appearances: transparent if seen from the front, and as a solid body if seen from the side. The spherical counterweight, allowing its up-down adjustment, can be inserted or removed at any time. Titania is a dynamic and surprising lamp, suitable for a wide variety of settings.

All I can say is WOW

I saw this Item while surfing this website. I bookmarked it and eventually purchased it. It arrived on time and the packaging was excellent. The instructions were clear and I had it up in about 10 minutes. The only draw back is that it requires a special halogen bulb that few stores carry. There should have been a prompt at the checkout for lightbulbs. I finally got the light bulbthree days later - I reccomend the full 250Watt bulb for full effect. All I can say is WOW. It is a show piece that will get lots of positive comments.

I spent quite a lot of time looking for the perfect lighting fixture, some were cool but very expensive, the Titania have it all, it's affordable, you can hang it off center, you can change the color, you can tilt it, move it up and down, it really is versatile, so if you are the kind of person that likes to change and move things around the house, this is for you.

We like it a lot!

P.S. Make sure you get the light bulb that it needs, 250W, I got mine also on line and they arrived pretty much at the same time!!

Conversation piece

Lamp arrived very well packed. The lamp itself is extremely light in weight, appears somewhat fragile. Directions were clear and the lamp does offer several ways of installing, i.e. ceiling or wall. Does not bring the bulb and it is a specialty one, so make sure you order the bulb along with the lamp. It looks better installed than up close. A great conversation piece, everyone has a comment about it. It does a good job of illuminating the area. Thin/light pieces of aluminum make up this lamp, handle with care since it appears fragile and easy to bend/distort the pieces. I am very pleased with it, although unless you paid less than retail price you may feel you overpaid but than again you are buying a conversation piece much more than just a lamp.

Nice clean design

Relatively easy installation. Kids like the interchangeable color shades. Only wish that the bulb could be higher wattage to give more light.

Excellent beautiful lamp

This lamp was very easy to install. Looks amazing and I was thinking that probably will not supply enough light but it’s perfect.

this lamp is sublime

I've had my Titania for about 12 years. i'm always in awe of it. throughout the year i change the jells to reflect the holidays. with the dimmer and the ability to easily raise or lower the lamp i am able to create a quality of light to match my mood.

this lamp is a classic. if i were Luceplan i would make available packets of colored filters containing new colors to expand the lamp's color possibilities...maybe pastels. get this lamp, you'll love it.

As per other reviews, this was relatively easy to install, especially if you have installed other lighting in general. The trickiest part was to get the ball-weight the correct length so that there was enough play to adjust the pendant up/down/sideways.

There was a little confusing detail in the description that says "minimum length of 40 inches" - that isn't true. I have mine much closer to the ceiling, and therefore had to adjust the length of the fishing wire they provide for the ball-weight (per above comment).

Results are stunning. Really looks cool - like a modern/futuristic surfboard floating over our dining table!

A great modern fixture that looks good in any room.

We have this light as a pendant over our kitchen table. It looks great as a modern touch to a remodeled mid-century home.
The interchangeable coloured plates are fun and let you play around with moods for the seasons. I think this is a fantastic and affordable design addition to our home. I'm thinking of getting the Titania Queen in the future.

You wont be disappointed!

This light is even more stunning in person. I have 2 in a hallway. I shortened the suspension slightly and love the look. These lights are well made, spectacularly designed and very configurable. I've never seen anything like them.

I just bought a third for the bathroom!

Second Time Around

This light hung in our home office for 12 years until the bulb socket burnt out. However, we liked it so much we bought the same fixture again. Very cool how you can change the colors by changing the plastic inserts. We like the purple and gold. Go Lakers!

Fun, futuristic light!

Well made and quality light fixture -exactly what I was looking for. It is very bright and worked well for a high ceiling application I needed it for. I love the flexibility with the adjustments and even though it needed a little bit of electrician's setup time to figure out the exact angle, slope etc -it was worth it.
