"Big is enormous, in terms of both size and innovation, revolutionizing the traditional concept of a ceiling light, up to now practical but small and unambitious."

The bowl of this light fixture, with choice of 39" or 47" diameters, makes it an exceptional design of unique strength, able to be noticed and become a practical and decorative feature. For those interior design projects where the light fitting needs to be brought lower down. The suspension version of Big allows the lamp to be angled as required. A sequence of a line of these fittings at different angles provides large amounts of concentrated light just where it is needed together with a very special interplay of shapes.

Suspension light for diffused, ambient illumination. Acrylic diffuser with polished chrome ring. Big uses fluorescent lamping with electronic, dimmable, universal ballasts. Dimming controls must be compatible.

Alberto Lievore

Born into a family of Italian immigrants in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1948, from a young age he was sensitive to design, inventing various objects and toys for himself. After completing a scientific technical education in chemistry, Lievore went on to work for an oil company. He later completed his military service and sought to further his love for design, so he began architecture at the Buenos Aires Faculty of Architecture. In 1977, he officially settled in Barcelona where he founded a studio in the Berenguer el Gran Square with colleague Norberto Chaves, and afterwards Daniel Perrando, Oriol Pibernat, and Jorge Pensi. Later, in 1984, he started his very own Alberto Lievore & Associates firm, which allowed him to learn and grow more as a designer. In 1991, he changed the name of his firm to Lievore Altherr Molina, as other designers Jeanette Altherr and Manel Molina joined the lineup. He still continues his incredible work with his firm, attaining worldwide acceptance and notability with his partners for their bold furniture designs.
