This product has a very nicely built cabinet, and the quality of light itself is unpleasant.
My installer didn't have that reaction, but from the second I turned it on, was disturbed by the light. It's sort of everything that made flourescents the wrong choice back in the day -- wrong color temp, wrong vibration. If I were a physicist or an engineer, I could be more specific about how that happens, but as a lover of great lighting, all I can say is -- for me, NO. They haven't figured it out with this particular LED, not yet.
Decided to give it a try the next day, in case it was just something I could get used to, and got a headache using the light to do simple kitchen tasks, and this is dimmed way down in case brightness or reflection were the issue.
I though maybe it was just me, but my architect took a look and definitely agreed. We concurred, cabinet: nice. Actual light: fail.
Hope WAC gets it right, but if you're thinking of getting these, please know that, for some people like me and my architect, this is not yet a good product.
Bought a cheap Xenon undercabinet light from my hardware store to compare quality, and there's no comparison. One, I would happily work under, the other makes me prefer to sit (or chop) in the dark!
Have now ordered WAC's xenon undercabinet lights. Worse for the environment and for the bills in terms of energy consumption, and hotter for the cabinets I'm sure, but fortunately, don't use task lighting for more than an hour or so a day.
Order if you must, but be ready to take Y Lighting up on the return policy if you feel the same as we do.
