We wanted something low-profile to provide ambient light in the renovated kitchen of our 1951 ranch. This fit the bill -- it looks good, doesn't take up much space, and the width conceals the ceiling mess (cracked plaster skim coat) around the hole for the junction box. Some minor gripes: (1) As other reviewers mentioned, it doesn't sit completely flush on the ceiling (due to the way the power cord is routed). That means light "leaks" out around the top of the fixture. (2) When unscrewing the bezel to open the fixture and replace the bulbs, you have to be very careful not to unscrew the mounting plate from the junction box at the same time!

This is a great light that is perfect for a bathroom. It's simple, modern and throws off some nice light in a dark bathroom.
