Inspired by the woven baskets of around the world, the Stephen Burks designed Anwar LED Pendant Light from Parachilna summons the great skill and dexterity of metalsmiths to create its steel rod form. Like much of Burks' multicultural work, Anwar highlights with great clarity the logic and movement of the hand. With two circular rings as a starting and ending point, steel rods are individually welded with near-perfect spacing and direction in a concentric form. The diagonal rods in the background intersect with the frontal rods to create an intricate basket-like silhouette. Accentuating the metalsmiths' handiwork, a dual-sided LED module at the base shines up a volumetric array of fine highlights. The opposite side of the LED shines to provide a clear down glow.
