The elegant, angular shape of the Astro Wall Sconce - Set of 2 by Oluce is meant to play with perceptions of volume. Designed by Giopato & Coombes, the whole design is comprised of 12 equal rhombi, mixing a glass diffuser with a metal wall mount. Three diffuser surfaces are sanded to transparency, projecting light in a focused pattern to achieve harmony with the physical lamp volumes and the light it sheds. An excellent choice as a single installation or set up in a series for a more cohesive lighting aesthetic
Master designer Giuseppe Ostuni founded Italy-based lighting brand Oluce in 1945. Now the oldest Italian design company still in existence and actively producing today, many of Oluce's domed lights are now on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Ostuni's award-winning and dramatically arced floor lamps, domed table lamps and pendants, glass scones, and uniquely-shaped outdoor lighting have influenced the lighting and design industry for decades and will continue to do so for generations to come.
