Top 5 Louis Poulsen Lights
Louis Poulsen was started over seventy years ago. With their classic mid-century style remaining as the roots of the brand, today they continue to develop new senses of modern lighting. Representing the old and the new, here are out top 5 Louis Poulsen lights:
A mid-century modern classic, the PH 5 Pendant Light was designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958. Its beautiful design has been expertly engineered and has remained a cult favorite. Its stacked shade design directs light downward as well as diffusing light in all directions, making it an ideal fixture for hanging above a dining room table.
The NJP LED Table Lamp is a new addition to the Louis Poulsen family. Its elegant shape and simple design is a reimagining of the classic architect lamp. Designed by Oki Sato from Japan’s Nendo design studio, the lamp has been thoughtfully designed to produce the best version possible.
Designer Clara von Zweigberk was inspired by a trip to the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen and captured the whimsical atmosphere in the Cirque Pendant Light. Bright and cheery bands of color represent the blurring sights of color and light that meld into the night at the carnival.
The Nyvahn Outdoor Wall Sconce was originally designed by Alfred Homman & Ole V. Kjær in 1976 and had won a Louis Poulsen held competition for lighting products that could be used in old and heritage urban areas. The conical design of the shade directs a fair amount of light downwards, while three anti-glare rings positioned at the top of the shade help to illuminate the outside of the shade.
Designed by Louise Campbell, the Collage Pendant filters and reflects light through a series of multi-layered shades. Each acrylic shade is laser-cut and then staggered, allowing for a delicate pattern of light and shadows to emerge from within.
