Looks nice but too much light spill
The two-arm lamp is made of quality materials and shipped in protective styrofoam (a pain to dispose of and not accepted by recycling). The lamp assembles easily, looks very nice and has an ample cord.
Using it is not as much fun. For starters the open reflectors spill a lot of light which blinds us when sitting down; a problem even with recessed 3W (25W equivalent) LED bulbs. The arms and reflectors adjust but we cannot find any position that works perfectly. Adjusting one lamp often moves the other one which then requires an adjustment, which moves the first one... and so on. Complicating adjustments are the counterweight arms which stick out too far and can be hit when walking by or cleaning. Also the pivot friction does not hold position for long even after tightening. Style before function I guess.

Good office reading lamp
I bought this for use in my office as a table reading lamp. The lamp has an old-school, vintage feel to it, yet it doesn't look out-of-place at my workplace, which has a more contemporary feel to it. The lamp subtly elevates the atmosphere of the place. As for function--the "high" function puts out a good warm light (I use 60w soft white GE bulbs). The lamp is heavy, solid--it inspires confidence...it seems well-made so far.

Beautiful to look at and beautifully made
I ordered the Bruno light as a desk light to replace an old and once dependable but cheap light from Wal-Mart. As an architect I was looking for DESIGN and the Y Lighting catalog fulfilled that requirement. The Bruno light caught my eye and I ordered unaware that it would take weeks before delivery - these lights are made to order! Well worth the wait - just gorgeous to look at and to use with precision made components with a reassuring solidity and emphatic click to the switch. Could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Desk Lamp looks great on the office desk.
Delivered on time; packed well; small enough footprint; looks good and high quality construction. Only negative is that the light must be faced on certain angle to avoid glare from the light.
