The Drape Chandelier by SkLO honors the focus of design team Karen Gilbert and her husband Paul Pavlak by using honest materials and allowing them to be shaped by skilled craftsmen. A single canopy supports fabric-wrapped cords that pass through a large brass ring, each one holding a handblown Czech glass sphere at its end. Individually crafted, every glass piece has a double-dipped and fire-polished open mouth from where it is broken away from the glassblower’s pipe, leaving a unique and artful stamp on this collection of lights.
Developed in collaboration between Pavel Hanousek and husband and wife duo Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak, the glassblowing company SkLO was founded in the Czech Republic. SkLO, the Czech word for glass, draws inspiration from clean architectural lines and simple forms, Their unique pendants and chandeliers are crafted by glass masters in the Czech Republic and fuse the age-old tradition with modern functionality.
