Sharp and architectural, the First Avenue Linear Suspension Light from Minka-Lavery is a standout feature using its perpendicular composition of lines to guide the eye around its silhouette. Over a kitchen island or dining table, the piece makes smart use of space, extending out to reach the corners of one's surface. Made of steel, the structure sends out horizontal contours and complements them with the vertical ones of the slender stems. Etched white glass shade delight as fully realized 3-dimensional form with an opaque character. With candelabra bulbs tucked inside, the diffusers receive a warm glaze across their surfaces. Light exiting the cylinders softly scatters and fills out the table surface below for a livened-up space.
