Originally designed in 2002 by Ferruccio Laviani, the Kartell FL/Y Pendant Light features a collection of dome shades available in a vibrant range of colors. The gradual concave curve at the base is the defining characteristic of the design, actualizing the dual use of ambient and functional down lighting. The batch-dyed thermoplastic shade is crisp in transparent finishes, bringing to mind the lightness and iridescence of a soap bubble in bright light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Love midcentury from Love the way it looks! I love the way the pendant looks! I put it in my front entry way and I needed something that didn't hang down too low as my ceilings are only 8 feet. The pendant only hangs a few inches from the ceiling which is good so that nobody tall will hit their head on the pendant when they walk in. It's very light since it's plastic and not glass so there's no worries with it breaking. When it's on, it casts a nice yellow glow (I have the yellow pendant) and casts a fair bit of light to the area. It's very sleep, and looks mid-century and goes perfectly with the large yellow globe light I have over the dining room table. I love all things Kartell! I was hesitant to spend so much money on a light over the front door entry since you don't see it that much but it really looks great and I'm happy I splurged and bought it. The only thing is I did hire an electrician to install it (it replaced an old light fixture that looked like it was supposed to be used outdoors) and since it's European it took a little bit of time for him to figure out how to install it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pacsnow from Stylish Modern Pendants I bought two Kartell Fly pendants to finish off a kitchen remodel. I chose the Petrol Blue color, which is a very nice, bright blue with a hint of torqouise to it. My only concern with the lights is my ability to keep them dust-free. Day three of install, and when the sun is shining on them or th ey are lit, the dust really shows. I'll try cleaning them with alcohol to see if that helps with the issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by XpyForLight from Beautiful design, attracts dust & scratches easily Bought the Kartell FL/Y lamp (in blue). It looks so good! But only until that plastic thing attracts dust and tends to scratch so easily, when you try to clean it even with the softest of cloths! Look at the pictures, how hideous that looks! Especially when it's lit and the dust and scratches are illuminated from the inside! Unfortunately, not even Kartell support could tell me, how to clean the lamp without harming it :-(

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ernest from Fun colorful light This is a smaller version of the Kartell flye light. Its probably 2/3 the size of the regular flye. Great color and adds fun to any room. Lucite and extremely light weight. Doesn't put out a lot of light so keep this in mind. Lucite can also be slightly difficult to clean but overall a nice purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by hoco68 from beware of the white lamp I ordered a white lamp. They don't tell you that the white color is made of a different material than the transparent colors. It is like a cheap, very thin, plastic material that was broken in many pieces when I opened the box. Sadly I waited to open and they wouldn't take the lamp back. You have 72 hours to open.
