Originally designed by Vico Magistretti in 1995, the Maui Chair received a fresh new look in 2012 with upholstery. The original Maui Chair was the focal point of design research in the 1990s, as the first of a new era of single mold seats in material that had no ribbing, tracery, metal supports, or reinforcements to support the back. The upholstered Maui Soft Chair, Armless features elegant lines, practicality, and versatility with a wide range of fabric options — just as contemporary today as it was yesterday.
Kartell has been a leader in modern Italian design for decades, and their collection is recognizable for its colors, shapes and playfulness. And, of course, for its predominant material: plastic. Kartell has developed many advancements in plastics, including improved transparency, softness, flexibility and durability.
