Handsome & well made
The 801 fixture is the best looking mr16 fixture for focusing light on an art object (with exception of a framing projector). The build quality is excellent. The addition of the barn door accessory adds that Hollywood look and reduces the light spill over from the fixture. No light escapes from the back of the fixture which is a plus for focusing attention on your art. Highly recommended.

Mostly Good; Some Weak Points
Overall a very decent light fixture for the price. Wasn't impressed with the barn door accessory, as it didn't really manipulate or box in the light.

Awesome. Perfect.
I love these fixtures. They are the only low-voltage track lights I've found with barn doors to fit the Lightolier track. The barn doors finally make it OK to have track lighting in the house, because I'm not constantly blinded by all of the different lamps pointed every which way. Also, they cost 1/4 of what any Lightolier fixture would cost. I like these so much, I'm about to buy 8 more to put in the other rooms of my house.

Well made, nice looking head
This is a well made, nice looking product. I currently have 8 of them in black with the barn door accessory, and they look great illuminating artwork in my living room. I do hope that the reviewer who claims that the transformers burn out after just a couple of years is incorrect. I am using the recommended electronic low voltage dimmers and the lights will not spend much time on full brightness, so I expect to get many years of service from them. In addition, according page 174 of the 2009 WAC Lighting product catalog (PDF download from WAClighting.com), their 120V track light systems (which includes low voltage heads) have a 5 year warranty.

These lights work great, but every couple of years they burn out, and you need to buy replacement fixtures.
Track lighting is nice. They transformers burn out after a few years and you'll have to replace them. The nice thing is that you don't have to replace the entire track.

The replacement lights work great. more importantly, Ylighting was very helpful in helping me figure out what I needed to buy so that I didn't have to purchase an entirely new track lighting sysstem.
