Pretty lamp
Looks good but it’s short lamp and the shade is narrow, so it doesn’t protect you from the light of the bulb in any way.

Perfect style and size
This lamp looks great in my condo, which I'll describe as 'city chic'. It works great next to the couch where I like to lounge with a book. Because the size is a little more compact than a lot of standing lights, it works in a smaller space, and it allowed me to hang a picture at the perfect height right above it. It completes the area between two sets of floor to ceiling windows while providing great light. I'm very happy with it.

Beautiful design, quality issues
I agree with the previous review. This is a beautiful lamp. But there are quality issues. Getting the shade level with the floor is a struggle, the on/off switch is extremely finicky and of poor quality. And the large seam in the shade bothers me. Also, the diffuser arrived damanged, but a call to customer service addressed that immediately. I'm keeping the lamp, but am disappointed to find that $400 doesn't buy quality.

Nice lamp, not a great value.
I chose this lamp for its clean modern design and its ability to produce a lot of light by accepting up to a 150W bulb. While it delivers on both these fronts, the quality is not what I would expect. The base is essentially an unfinished weight disc (dumbbell plate) with a cover on top that doesn't entirely reach the floor leaving part of the disc exposed. The shade has a large visible seam and sits slightly canted as opposed to level with the floor. The switch is plastic and wiggles within its housing.
