Blu Dot is a creative and driven company founded by three friends in 1997 in Minneapolis. Right after college, the three friends, Maurice Blanks, John Christakos, and Charlie Lazor were looking to furnish their homes with modern furniture, however, everything they liked was out of their price range, and everything that did fit in their budget they didn't like. From this dilemma Blu Dot was born. With the simple goal of bringing good design to as many people as possible, Blu Dot creates original and beautiful designs that are useful, affordable, and desirable.

Took a while to get it right, but it was worth it
The lamp came defective the first time. Apparently some are glued together incorrectly, so the parts don't tightened the way they suppose to. When the replacement lamp came, we thought it suffered the same symptom as the original one, since the nut was really hard to turn. But after putting both lamps side by side and playing around with them again over a weekend, we were able to make the replacement lamp work. They look great, and we love the look. The quality could have been better. The lamp shade has some glue drips on it. Even though they're not noticeable, it tells about the quality and attention to details that go into making the lamp. The customer service rep I dealt with was awesome and very helpful, which make the frustration less than could have been. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
