The Twice Table Lamp by SkLO is an artful creation from husband and wife designers Paul Pavlak and Karen Gilbert. Combining their diverse backgrounds, they elevate honest materials with traditional techniques to create subtly beautiful yet simple pieces. A pair of handblown Czech glass spheres with different diameters are both marked with a unique, double-dipped, and a fire-polished mouth that was formed when each was broken off of the glassblower’s pipe when they were crafted. These open spaces are set off-center, and these glass pieces are connected by a cylindrical brass arm, creating an asymmetrical display that offers a lovely layer of light to spaces.
Developed in collaboration between Pavel Hanousek and husband and wife duo Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak, the glassblowing company SkLO was founded in the Czech Republic. SkLO, the Czech word for glass, draws inspiration from clean architectural lines and simple forms, Their unique pendants and chandeliers are crafted by glass masters in the Czech Republic and fuse the age-old tradition with modern functionality.
