Designed by Arturo Alvarez, the Ura 3 Pendant Light projects a world of light created by the micro-perforations of a steel mesh construction. Craftsmen hand-cut and fold the mesh material in a current of undulations that break into three flaring segments. Paint applied to the outside of the structure seeps into the holes of the mesh, producing textural perforations. Two metal rings framing the structure reiterate the circular contours that pulse across the silhouette. Dots of penetrating light glaze across the piece; they come together to create a glowing form accented by radiating lines.
Started in 1994 as “a by arturo alvarez,” the company was rebranded as “a-emotional light” in 2020. Led by CEO Marco Rioseco and Sales Manager Miguel Martínez, a-emotional light produces products with one goal: to make people feel. Based in Galicia in Northwestern Spain, nature is found in each design by a-emotional light. Each product features a unique design and irregular shape inspired by the comforting and astonishing landscape of Galicia.
