Hudson Valley Lighting
Hudson Valley Lighting is the leader in restoration-style lighting inspired by the fixtures and craftsmanship of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Based in Newburgh, New York, the company’s in-house designers create modern classic pieces that are thoughtfully and authentically imbued with the industrial design sensibility unique to the Hudson River Valley in New York.
A Lighting FamilyFounded by David Littman in 1985, Hudson Valley Lighting got its start in the lighting trade three generations ago when David’s father was so impressed by the fluorescent lighting presentation at the 1939 New York World’s Fair that he started to sell lighting products out of his own garage. Hudson Valley Lighting is part of the Hudson Valley Lighting Group, which includes several outstanding lighting brands including Troy Lighting, Corbett Lighting and CSL.
High-Quality Designs and Noteworthy DesignersThe company uses high-grade materials, leading edge manufacturing techniques and places a strong emphasis on fine details to create its fixtures that enliven well-appointed homes around the world. The company also offers a diverse range of product types, including Hudson Valley Lighting pendants and sconces, chandeliers, island lights, and table and floor lamps, just to name a few. Stylistically, Hudson Valley Lighting offers traditional, contemporary and vintage design motifs that at once address aesthetics and functionality. Among the company’s most intriguing endeavors is partnering with well-know designers to create outstanding expressions of light. Interior designer Corey Damen Jenkins, known for boldly mixing vibrant colors with layered patterns to create spaces that are at once elegant, inventive and timeless, brings a welcome degree of classic chic to his namesake collection at Hudson Valley Lighting. Mark D. Sikes, also hailing from the interior design world, lends his talent for mixing American and European, traditional and modern elements, resulting in the refined and textured CLASSICS collection.
Notable Lighting from Hudson Valley LightingHudson Valley Lighting ensures that customers who come to them for lighting have a depth and breadth of exceptional choices. Among the company’s many notable pieces is the Washington Pendant Light, a revolutionary style fixture that offers artisan-crafted, pristine-clarity glassware handmade from molten glass and resulting in a seamless piece of beautifully figured glasswork. The Amherst Wall Sconce, inspired by the light and balanced furniture designs of George Hepplewhite, offers a sleek, straight design featuring elongated torch handles and subtle embellishments of pristine crystal accents. Ultimately, Hudson Valley Lighting makes pieces for the customer who understands and appreciates the lasting value of a well-made lighting fixture. As David puts it, "We design and build beautiful fixtures for people who put quality first—for people who are not willing to trade-off that increasingly rare characteristic." |
